First of all, this is a such a great infographic!! We send each of our candidates who go on an interview a packet of prep material that includes a lot of these points (among other things) but you should save this photo to your phone as a quick cheat sheet and you’ll be ahead of your competition already!! I may have to include it in our packet too!
This article/video (click for link) goes over the big deal breakers that can happen within the first few minutes of meeting someone. I could cite a specific example for each one of these points where candidates shot themselves in the foot right away because they didn’t follow our (this) advice. Most recently we had a candidate who is usually a really warm and friendly person who was having an off day. Although she did okay with the hiring team she was a little brusque with the receptionist upon arrival. The receptionist later conveyed her experience with the managers and the candidate was immediately eliminated! It’s the little things, folks, that can make or break you!!
