There are a ton of different reasons that someone may have a gap in their work history: taking a break to stay home with children, care for an ill parent, a layoff…whatever it may be, it’s important to be honest but make sure you give a sensible and positive explanation, without giving too much information, then drive the conversation back to the job you are interviewing for and the skills you offer that will make you successful.
