SUMMARY:
Provide expertise in usability design principles, device specific engagement capabilities, and social media integration for mobility initiatives.  The Mobile Experience (UI/UX) Designer must apply communication, collaboration, design concepts, analytical thinking, data modeling, business knowledge and technical skills to design engaging and easy to use mobile applications.
REQUIREMENTS:
•Collaborate with team members on requirements and solution design
•Provide effort estimates based on thorough understanding of requirements
•Prepare wireframes and visual design specification based on thorough understanding of both functional and non-functional requirements
•Design based on mobile design standards and patterns for solution to be informative, engaging, simple and easy to use and implement
•Facilitate user experience and interaction requirements validation review and approvals when required
•Participate in usability test and other types of testing as required
•Participate in proof-of-concept and prototyping initiatives to validate mobile tactics
•Acquire knowledge of usability development principles and device specific engagement capabilities and their technical challenges and opportunities
•Acquire knowledge of collaboration and social networking technologies and incorporate them into effective user experience design
•Observe customer engagement direction and strategy in mobile solutions to meet current business needs and to allow for future flexibility and growth
•Provide user research and design support to aid in holistic, user-centric concepts of mobility capabilities
•Proactively maintain knowledge of social media trends for roadmap suggestions to improve application health and enhance capabilities
•Participate in mobility strategy and roadmap development that align with company’s vision and mission
•Contribute, understand and adhere to mobile processes, standards, and technical approaches relevant to assigned platform or technology
•Provide after-hours support activities as required
•Perform additional duties as assigned by leadership team
Qualifications:
Education / Experience:
•H.S. Diploma or equivalent; Bachelor’s degree preferred
•Experience with web 2.0, design patterns, and rich internet applications
•Experience in user interface development on mobile devices
•Experience in design, development and implementation in 1 or more mobile technology software platforms and relevant SDKs is a plus: iOS (Apple), Blackberry (RIM), Android (Google), Windows Mobile (Microsoft)
•Experience in various user design tools (Dreamweaver, Sencha Touch, iRise, Basalmic, etc)
•Experience in various web technologies including HTML5, CSS, JSON, AJAX, and JavaScript
•Experience with 3rd party APIs, tools, and functionality (i.e. Google Maps, YouTube, Facebook, etc.)
•Experience with Social Media applications
•User experience design preferred
•IT experience preferred
Knowledge / Skills / Abilities:
•Knowledge of usability principles and user interface design
•Knowledge of software development standards and best practice approaches
•Knowledge of web and mobile technologies and technical architectures
•Knowledge of Open Source software concepts and practices
•Knowledge of project management and software development methodology such as Agile or Scrum
•Skill using various software applications and tools (such as Microsoft Project, Visio, Power Point, and Excel)
•Ability to succeed in a fast paced environment with quickly changing priorities
•Ability to think outside the box and generate creative ideas for solving business problems using technology
•Ability to proactively monitor industry and technology trends
•Ability to gain consensus of solution design and technology among team members
